8:15 – 8:45 PM: The Blues Groove & Beyond

Presented by Bob Kelly, drummer with The Fourmula. Dig into the heartbeat of the blues. Enjoy an overview of the basic shuffle beat, straight four, the Rhumba, and more.

10:00 – 10:30 PM: Beyond the Blues Box

Presented by Chris Stevens. The Guitar workshop from the former Los Angeles studio musician will show you the scales used in the studios with an emphasis on soloing over Major Chords. www.stevenschris.com

Saturday, September 2nd

12:30 – 1:30 PM: Blending Rhythm and Lead

Presented by RT Roling and Chris Stevens. The Guitar workshop will demonstrate how to choose which chord formation to use and which scale used to solo over the changes.

4:00 – 4:30 PM: The Blues Masters

Presented by Aaron Miller and Mike Miller from The Fourmula. The two will showcase songs by the most influential Blues artists and explain why they are so influential.

5:45 – 6:15 PM: Beyond the Basics – Express Yourself

Presented by Winston Dunbar. The Keyboard workshop from the Smokers Blues Band keyboard player will show you how to solo with the proper scales and rhythms.

7:30 – 8:15 PM: Breathing Rhythms & Tongue Rhythms

Presented by Brian Stear. The Harmonica workshop will show you how to add variety to your playing.

9:45 – 10:30 PM: Techniques for Rockin’ the Mandolin

Presented by Wes Duffy of Still Shine. He will demonstrate how to use various techniques to play blues and more.
